I could summarize our Australian experience in two words so far: Nature and People
You got an idea of the Nature bit in our last posts. After travelling over a month in western Australia, we flew back to cityscape. I could say that generally I am more attracted by countryside than cities but Brisbane, like Melbourne, has been such a rich experience thanks to amazing family friends that we finally got to meet.
Mum had talked to me so much about Maria and Ahmed and the very first day I met them, I thought I had known them for many years already. This feeling is strange and probably very rare in a lifetime. I enjoyed every minute we spend together chatting, sharing point of views and experiences. In a week, I have learned so many things and I really feel I have left Brisbane with much more. The only thing I can add to this is thank you!
Pau, Caro and I, one day were discussing about "meeting people" during a trip. How it is easier to meet new people when you stay in shared accomodation. This is where you meet people doing the same thing as you and where you can share tips and impressions. We haven't done much of that (we have done it though) in these 4 months because we are extremely lucky our brothers, sisters, parents and ourselves have truly good friends and family spread out in the world. We got a chance in New York, Peru, Buenos Aires, Melbourne and Brisbane to be with these people or meet them for the first time and it has been so enriching. They are people and memories that will stay in our minds and hearts and that we would love to welcome the way they did in our next home.
