Road trip 2 - Fraser Island by Cat

Here we are gone for our 2nd road trip with Caro. Things are spicing up a little, this time we have rented a 4 x 4...and it is the best car ever....so many paintings would fit into this car....an old landrover. Great...it feels like being in a tractor. I love it!

Fraser island is highly tourititic compared to the empty western australia. Most of the people (mostly 18 year old british, dutch or germans) travel on an organised tour because only 4x4s are allowed and the driving conditions are not easy. But  Caro and Pau, my personnal over 30 drivers are scared of nothing and here we go the three of us, once again.
This time we just have 2 tents since we sold the rest of the camping gear in Perth before we left the West. So 3 days it will be eating raw cold food.

It was a good few days, camping on the beach, driving the 4x4, eating our cold food and watching films at the back of the tractor.

The island is of course beautiful and australian nature is still suprising us. Sand dunes, rainforest, snakes, dingoes, lakes, small lake turtles and more adventures. The only frustrating thing is that sharks and strong currents live in the sea, which makes it non bathable. Have you ever been on a island but couldn t swim in the sea? The lakes and creeks made for it though.

These 3 days flew, we could have stayed a week but 4x4 rentals are way too expensive.
Back on shore, our plans would seperate us again. We took the same bus as Caro towards Brisbane but Pau and I stopped before to meet up with our first host family...
Goodbye Caro, goodbye!
